چکیده

Salt stress is a common abiotic that negatively affects crop growth and yield. However, there have been significant differences found on the effect degree management mechanism in plants under neutral salt alkaline stress. In this study, two soybean cultivars, Heihe 49 (HH49, saline-alkali tolerant) Henong 95 (HN95, sensitive), were hydroponically cultured treated with solutions of 25, 50, 75 mM Na+ form NaCl, Na2SO4, NaHCO3, Na2CO3. Plants (NaHCO3 Na2CO3) showed greater decrease root activity both cultivar seedlings than stresses (NaCl Na2SO4) 25–75 concentration. Alkaline (25–50 content) activated higher ability antioxidant defense (by enhancing activists superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), ascorbate (APX)) increased content soluble sugars to level stresses. treatments reduced enzyme activities osmotic regulating substance content. Furthermore, was able induce DNA damage cell cycle arrest HH49 HN95 seedling roots. Treatment Na2CO3 induced least random amplification polymorphic (RAPD) polymorphism roots among all treatments, which could related early arrest.

Effect of Nitrate on Nodule and Root Growth of Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.)

The application of combined nitrogen, especially nitrate, to soybean plants is known to strongly inhibit nodule formation, growth and nitrogen fixation. In the present study, we measured the effects of supplying 5 mM nitrate on the growth of nodules, primary root, and lateral roots under light at 28 °C or dark at 18 °C conditions. Photographs of the nodulated roots were periodically taken by a ...

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr].

In this chapter we describe an Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation method of soybean that utilizes mature half seeds and regeneration from the cotyledonary node region. This method results in fertile transformed soybean plants and transgenic seed in approximately 9 months. Using mature half seeds as starting material has proven to be a reliable method that does not require additional wound...

Influence of Temperature on Nitrate Metabolism and Leaf Expansion in Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) Seedlings.

The effect of various day temperatures on NADH-nitrate reductase, NADH- and NADPH-glutamate dehydrogenases, nitrate, protein and leaf area, measured at intervals during the ontogeny of the first trifoliolate soybean leaf, was determined. At 32.5 C and 25 C, nitrate concentration, nitrate reductase, and NADPH-glutamate dehydrogenase activities increased concurrently with leaf development and the...

Impact of sea salt stress on growth and some physiological attributes of some soybean (Glycine Max L.) varieties.

The impact of three levels of sea salt (0.0, 8.0, and 16.0 mS/cm2) on six varieties of soybean (Crawford, G21, G22, G35, G82, and G83) was studied. Growth criteria, photosynthetic pigments, soluble sugars, soluble protein, free amino acids, free proline, and protein profile of soybean varieties were investigated under sea salt stress. Results of this study showed a considerable decrease in grow...
